WWII GERMAN LARGE GOLD PARTY BADGE WITH DESIRABLE MILITARY PIN BACK ATTACHMENT GROUPING, BELONGING TO FRANZ WEITESSER WITH LARGE RESEARCH FILE.

Large Gold Party Badge With Desirable so-called Military pin back attachment to the reverse side in fine condition, NSDAP belonging to Franz Weitesser with large research file. The badge is in just about mint condition, the oak leaf wreath still retains almost all original gilt finish and there is no damage to the enamel badge. The reverse side also retains almost all of the original gilt finish and it is marked GES GESCH in a box and below this the original owners NSDAP membership number 52272. The military style pin and hook are in perfect working order. The badge was awarded to Franz Weitesser, he was born on 8.9.1905 in Obedonau in Austria, he was married to Cristina who was German and apparently they did not have any children. The lived in the town of Freistadt in the Ober Oesterreich and this occupation was secret investigator. He joined the NSDAP on 1.2.27 with membership number 52272 which matches the number on the reverse of the badge. Mysteriously he joined the party for a second time on 1.4.1928 while already a member but this was soon realised and his second membership was cancelled and he retained his original membership number 52272 until the end of the war, why he tried to join the party twice is really a bit of a mystery and not something that I have encountered before, there is a large document file accompanying the badge of over 30 pages, but imagine much more can be discovered.
