WWI Chaplain Church Uniform of the Army Rank of Captain
WWI Chaplain Church Uniform of the Army Rank of Captain. A wonderful opportunity to obtain an Original WWI Chaplain uniform, Navy Blue/Black and has four pockets constructed totally on the style of the model 16 officers tunic with lower bellows pockets, large flaps, the waist has a strengthening band, two upper pockets with flaps and pleats. Open collar wear, shoulder rank and pointed cuffs. To the collars are fitted the blackened badges of the Chaplain Department with brass rank pips for the rank of Captain with a letter T below. All button original and remain in tack are in gilt finish of the Army Champlain Department. The tunic comes complete with a pair of long trousers with a 1cm strip of violet cross down each exterior seam of the trousers. Very hard to come across WWI Champlain Uniforms as not many have survived the War. Amazingly evening during the horrors and conflict of the Great War there was Priests available to give mass, comforting words and to tend to wounded soldiers and sadly give the last rites/prayers to the dying. Please note the silk violet neck sash does not come with item it is for reference only the uniform comprises of tunic and trousers.
Approx Size: Tunic Top back collar to bottom hem 34”, shoulder to shoulder 18”
Length of trousers: 50" The tunic is in fine condition with no mothing, the trousers has a couple of bits of mothing here and there.
