Stitched 1940s Wartime Battle of Britain RAF 7ft Marching Flag. A Hugh Stitched wartime issued Marching Flag of the Royal Air Force dating from the early 1940s. The Union Jack and RAF Bulls eye are all stitched individually, it is of an incredibly large size such items would have been used for parades and marching. Very rare to find these, retains it original Metal Flag Pole finial with wooden stem which is 2 part detached. These were used by commanding Officers to indicate his/her position on parade and were carried by the Guidon or Colours Bearer who marched next to the commanding officer. width 2300mm (7ft 6”) x 1200mm (4ft)
Rough Sack like Cloth, the flag It has some holes here and there throughout, which gives the flag uniqueness and age tone as expected.
