Stunning Large Victorian Silk Embroidery depicting British Naval Flags.

A beautiful commemorative Victorian Silk embroidery depicting British Naval Flags. The individual flags depict the white ensign of St George flown by the British Royal Navy, the red Ensign or Red Duster, overlapping the Welsh and Scottish Naval flags. To the centre bottom has an original embossed Card showing wedding bells, I presume this would have been a wedding gift for a naval officer/personal for their wedding. To top has the insignia Dieu Et mon droit (French pronunciation) which means God and my right. This moto is said to have first been used by Kind Richard I, as a battle cry. Beneath this Victoria crown. The colours are extremely vivid and are also the same as the day it was made. Please see photos. A nice large size of 19 and a half inches by 18 inches tall. To the reverse paper lining. A beautiful Silk embroidery. This was probably made towards the end of the 19th Century.
Size: 19 and a half inches wide by 18 inches tall.
Condition: in superb condition with no tears or rips
