This pair has always been together And belongs to one soldier, set Comprising of: Iron Cross 2nd Class by Steinhauer und Luck, Ludenscheid. The ring stamped with a "4". The Iron Cross remains in very good condition retaining nearly all of the silver and black finish. The cross has been stitched onto the silk of the lid of the War Merit Cross. Rare maker Iron Cross 2nd Class by renowned iron cross maker Steinhauer & Luck of Ludenscheld. The cross in 3-part construction with suspension ring stamp number 4. The cross still retaining most of its original outer silver frosting to front and back and made of solid German silver. Iron core to centre with original black paint remaining with PKZ Code stamp number 4 to ring, this denoting the very desirable renowned maker Steinhauer & Luck who were the prestige makers of the highest award the Micro 800 Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. In very condition great age toning and never been cleaned. Rare cross maker to find. The War Merit Cross 1st Class with Swords.This retains the vertical pin to the reverse, but has now lost its silvered finish. Stamp marked 62 for Kerbach & Österhelt, Dresden. Both contained in the original case for the War Merit Cross. the case is worn and catch not engaging but still intact, a very desirable set to one Third Reich soldier.
