Provenance: The Jan van Bree collection. Jan van Bree (1938-2024) was a Dutch native, and a prolific autograph collector. His collection began in 1957 when he wrote to the famous Italian singer Beniamino Gigli and received a handwritten reply. That one letter spurred Jan to write to as many famous people as possible, all over the world. From singers to scientists, actors to astronauts. Naturally, Jan also went autograph hunting in-person at major theatres in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Enschede. Hardly any event could pass without Jan obtaining a signature. In later years he also purchased autographs - usually of historical importance - from various trusted dealers and auction houses. His collection spanned around fifty albums, with many hundreds loose. He passed away in April 2024.
most famous films include Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Charade, My Fair Lady, and Sabrina, Cordelia, she starred in dramas like The Nun's Story and The Children's Hour, as well as romantic comedies such as Funny Face and suspenseful thrillers like Wait Until Dark. Her final film was Always.
Audrey Hepburn was an actress (Hollywood awarded Oscar winner) and fashion icon known for her timeless, elegant, and understated personal style that emphasized simplicity, clean lines, and quality pieces, often incorporating elements of menswear like tailored trousers and turtlenecks with signature items such as the little black dress, ballet flats, and oversized sunglasses. Her unique aesthetic, which contrasted with the glamour of other stars, created a sophisticated and accessible look that championed individuality and comfort.
Audrey Hepburn has been ranked No1 in multiple polls for her natural beauty, including a 2004 Evian poll and a 2012 QVC poll, and was named the most beautiful woman of the past century. Judges in these polls often cited her natural glow, healthy living, and inner beauty that radiated outward, as well as her timeless charm and elegance.
