Very nice authentic original example of an Italian Social Republic (RSI) Fascist double sided Flag, Nazi puppet state (1943-1945) led by Benito Mussolini, a tricolour green, white, red panel double edge stitched flag with a separate applied Silk Central Eagle grasping the Fascist Symbol to both sides of the flag. To one end has rope attachments with white strengthening section applied to this is a label reads (REPUBBLICA SOCIALE ITALIANAPER L'ONORE D'ITALIA — ITALIAN SOCIAL REPUBLIC FOR THE HONOR OF ITALY) also stamped in ink (RSI Milano and dated 1944) This flag represented the fascist, collaborationist regime during the Italian Civil War, following Italy's split in WWII. RSI flag and regime. The eagle and fasces on the flag symbolized the militant, fascist, and anti-partisan nature of the state, which was a client state of Nazi Germany. The flag was used by the RSI, also known as the Republic of Salò, from 1943 until it was dissolved in May 1945, after the surrender of Axis forces in Italy. RSI Forces: Troops fighting under this banner included the National Republican Guard, Black Brigades, and the X MAS, which were actively involved in fighting against the Italian resistance. Nice delayable example. Condition: much aging and the classic smell of aging but in fine condition. Great size for display 1000mm x 620mm. this flag is much harder to find with the central eagle and fascist symbol being in silk and separately applied to both sides as most are printed examples this is panel stitched with silk eagle on fascist symbol .
