RARE BRITISH WWII DESERT RATS INFANTRY BRODIE HELMET DATED 1942.

A fantastic wonderful opportunity to obtain a totally authentic original historic (WW2) British wartime brodie steel helmet belonging to the famous desert rats regiment under the command of general Bernard law Montgomery (north Africa campaign regiment). To inside of the helmet is stamped onto liner makers mark ( Jager-Rand ) and dated 1942 along with broad arrow military stamp along and stamped size (6 & 7/3) which is almost size 7. Jager-Rand were primarily makes of the famous desert rats’ British steel helmet and is always an absolute bonus to find their stamp mark inside any authentic helmets of the time. The helmet retains its original liner in good order; the chin strap is correct to one side is a wartime elasticated strap repair replacement section this was obviously done during the WW2 campaign as it showing the same aging as the rest of the remaining original strap. The outside of the helmet is in very good combat worn condition retaining its original desert sand coloured coated camouflage paint finishing, some black marks here and there looks to be old ground in vehicle or tank grease. The ear of the helmet has the 3 correct drilled holes this was for attaching the neck sun protection skirt, to prevent from roasting the solders neck in the blasting desert sun. The entire helmet has nice original age patina throughout. Becoming hard to find original desert rat brodie helmets with original wartime stamp marks showing its authenticity, the desert rats are famous for defeating the renowned nazi general officer Erwin Rommels Afrika Korps Army during WW2, please note the photos of the desert rats’ solders are for reference only and do not come with the sale of the helmet.
