Original Large Cased 1837-97 Queen Victoria Dimond Jubilee Sterling Silver Medal.

A Wonderful opportunity to obtain a totally Original Large Cased 1837-1897 Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee Sterling Silver Medallion Medal. The Medallion was issued in several versions by T. Brock and was issued for the Diamond Jubilee of HRH Queen Victoria as the official medal. This medal for sale is the large issued example made of sterling silver and comes with its original red leatherette case of issue, to front embossed Queens Crown with dates 1837-1897 all in gold finishing, to inside royal blue velvet base with a cream padded silk lined roof, the press to release catch is in perfect working order. The medal is signed to the base of the veiled head T.B for Thomas Brock. Ref VIC1
Veiled Head
The obverse features the veiled bust of the old head Victoria with the inscription: VICTORIA ANNVM REGNI SEXAGESIMVM FELICITER CLAVIT XX IVN MDCCXCVII.
Young Head
The reverse depicts the famous young head portrait of Queen Victoria with date of her accession to the throne ( 1837 ) below. To either side of the portrait is the inscription: LONGITVDO DIERVM IN DEXTERA EIVS ET IN SINISTRA GLORIA.
