ORIGINAL NAMED ROYAL NAVY COMMANDERS DOUBLE SET OF UNIFORMS WITH OFFICERS SWORD.
A wonderful opportunity to purchase an MBE Named Royal Navy Officer Commanders double Uniform set and officers’ sword. The Tunic set is made by Royal Warrant holders Gieves & Hawkes of No1 Savile Row, London W1. The Mess Set is made by E.J. Whitaker & Sons, Chatham, tailors to the Armed Forces, their tailoring is on view at the Imperial War Museum. The set comprises of two uniforms, firstly Naval uniform which consists of Tunic, trousers and Peaked Cap which are all made by Gieves & Hawkes of Savile Row, one of the oldest bespoke tailor companies in the world and warrant holders from King George III to the current Royal Household. To the inside of the Tunic carries the full Savil row maker’s label which is also present inside the trousers and peaked cap. The quality of the tailoring is second to none, which would be expected by Royal Warrant Holders and prestige makers. The Tunic has the medal ribbon car for Military MBE. The second Set comprises a Mess Jacket with trousers and waistcoat tailored by E.J. Whitaker & Sons, Chatham, tailors to the Armed Forces, their items are on view at the Imperial War Museum. Both the Tunics and Jacket carries the Royal Navy Badges gold button which makers marks to the back. Fantastic gold bullion embroidery to both cuff ranks. The cap has makers tailors label, made by Royal warrant holders Gieves & Hakes of Savile Row, London, gold bullion insignia oakleaves to the peak, padded Queens crown with oak and laurel wreathes, made to a high standard. Sword with scabbard, makers mark and stamps to sword, the scabbard has rust throughout. Named to Lt Commander Howard, shortly promoted to Commander RN, MBE holder and dating from 1955. The set is approximately small to medium we do not give out sizes unless they are stated on the labels.
