A fair conditioned original hammered silver penny coin of His Royal Highness King Henry III 1251-1272 Canterbury Struck. Some portrait remaining of the King to the front, to the long cross with three petals to four quadrants. Hammered coins were produced by placing a blank piece of metal gold or silver of the correct weight between two dies and then striking the upper die with a hammer to produce the required image on both sides, each coin is unique as each blow of the hammer would have been to a different degree.
