WWI ORIGINAL STERLING SILVER 1917 ISSUED MBE MEDAL AND CASE GARRARD & CO

Fine Original WWI example of the Full-Size MBE made of Sterling Silver with Original Presentation Case, made by Royal Silversmith Makers Garrard & Co for the Kings and Queens of Great Britain. The medal is still in superb finishing as you can see from the photos, with original purple silk water fleck ribbon with pin back attachment and harder to find V shape suspension ring, full set of hallmarks. To the top front of medal, we see the Kings Crown prominent and Britannia side portrait. The presentation case in which the medal is housed is of a purple leatherette finishing and has some leatherette loss see photos , block letters in gold MBE. Press to release catch which is in perfect working order. To the inside a cream velvet base with a silk padded liner to the roof with the full Garrard & Co stamp by appointment to His Majesty the King. Age toning, has never been cleaned. Garrard of London were exclusive Royal silversmith makers and are still today. This example is a totally original MBE with case as stated. REF: MBE 77SG.
