FINE ORIGINAL WWI SILVER 1919 MILITARY ISSUED MBE MEDAL AND CASE GARRARD & CO.

A totally Original MBE MiLY – Issued to Military Personnel of WWI, Solid Silver Medal & Presentation First Type. A wonderful opportunity to obtain a totally Original Full Size MBE Military Medal with Original Presentation Case intact, made by Royal Silversmith Makers Garrard & Co. The medal is still in superb finishing as you can see from the photos, with original purple and red stripe silk water fleck ribbon with pin back attachment, the red stripe denotes that it was given out to military personnel who took part in WWI, most definitely an officer. The ring is stamped lion passant and full set of hallmarks to reverse. To the top front of medal, we see the Kings Crown prominent and Britannia side portrait. The presentation case in which the medal is housed is of a purple leatherette finishing, block letters in gold MBE MiLY. Press to release catch which is in good working order. To the inside a cream velvet base with a silk padded liner to the roof with the full Garrard & Co stamp by special appointment to His Majesty the King. Harder to find WWI MiLY MBEs with original case of issue still together, the outer casing along are almost selling for almost the same price as the medal. The sale of this item is for case and medal together. The medal has age toning, has never been cleaned. Garrards of London were exclusive Royal silversmith makers and are still making fine silverware to this day. This example is a totally original MBE with its case of issue. REF;MBEM416
