EXTREMELY RARE BRITISH WWI NURSE'S MEDAL TRIO SET, BADGES & PHOTO.
A very collectable, and very desirable, rare British WWI nurse's Full Size medal trio Set, comprising 1914/1915 Star, War Medal and Victory Medal named to Sister A F Davy (F A Davy BRCS and OSJJ to Star) With her photograph and inscription Best Love from Florence Xmas 1907.Alongside her hallmarked sterling silver General Nursing Council badge SRN 24283 which again is named, St John Ambulance badge No 191 named F A Davy, Red Cross enamel badge 5689, named Florence A Davy, CSMMG (Chartered Society of Massage and Medical Gymnastics) badge number 4774, WWI Joint Red Cross and St Johns Cross enamel Badge possibly for a cap, a Voluntary Aid Detachment enamel Badge Herts, along with a WW1 Overseas Service stripes along with her photograph which is signed to the bottom with best love from Florence Xmas 1907. Comes with an original wartime period cardboard box, with a hand written dedication. I cannot emphasize how rare this set is for a Nurse who treated the wounded and dying, serving behind the frontline during WWI. Their job was extremely dangerous due to bombardments, gas attacks etc, one can only imagine the horrors she would have encountered and seen during her service. The medals have not been cleaned has fantastic age paten, very rare complete set to one brave individual woman.
