A very lovely, English Sterling Silver Inlaid on Tortoise shell Sweetheart Badge Royal Engineers WWI dated 1915, has the military style fixture to the reverse in full working order, beautiful inlay Regimental badge to front in very good condition Sweetheart badges were given by the soldiers to wives and girlfriends as a token of remembrance and they would have worn them on their lapel. Full Silver hallmarks for London to the reverse. This regiment had a range of roles on the front line they designed and built fortifications, repaired guns and equipment and operated poison gas, Size: 2.8cm diam.
