A very beautiful English Sterling Silver Inlaid on Tortoise shell Sweetheart Badge 23rd Battalion London Regiment (South Africa 1900-02), has the military style fixture to the reverse in full working order, beautiful inlay Regimental badge to front in very good condition Sweetheart badges were given by the soldiers to wives and girlfriends as a token of remembrance and they would have worn them on their lapels. Full Silver hallmarks for London to the reverse. This regiment see much combat in Flanders, The Battle of the Somme, Ypres just to name a few. Size: 2.8cm diam. Condition age marks consistent with age and genuine use.
