GERMAN WII SINGLE DECAL M40 HEER QUIST HELMET

A totally original and un-tampered example of a Heer Single Decal M40 Combat Helmet, with stamp number of 781 and what I believe to be a Q, on what appears to be a size 64 shell. Field repainted in a grey green colour, the shell is without damage with 70% of the over paint remaining. The decal has toned over the years and shows clear evidence of the original silver colouring. Inside the liner is intact, with loss of stitching to the rear seam and slight wear in that area. The leather itself having darkened as a result of perspiration, but still remains intact and supple with the original drawstring in place untied. The liner band fits well and has avoided the annoying habit of being bent to find a date. The chinstrap is present but missing approx a quarter of the length of the long side. All in all a very nice un-tampered, battle field WWII German Single Decal M40 helmet
