VICTORIAN ENGLISH STERLING SILVER TOP ROUGE CUT GLASS DISPENSER CHESTER 1898.
A nice English Victorian Sterling Silver Rouge Cut Glass Dispenser. English Sterling Silver hallmarks to the top Chester 1898. James & John William F Deakin, Sidney Works, Matilda Street, Sheffield. The glass dispenser has a Cherry pulls nib, leading onto a Sterling Silver lid in an arch design to follow the contours of the dispenser, the outer edge of the glass is cut glass which has a fan outer edge design. The body of the dispenser has numerous bubbles larger to top and reducing to bottom within the resin of the glass, giving it a Strawberry effect design. The glass has no chips or damage and in near mint condition. The dispenser, still has the original rouge brush which is attached to the lid in Sterling English Silver.
Hallmarks: Makers Mark JDWD, Date Letter P 1898, Lion .925 Sterling Silver Finest, Chester Assay Mark. Size: 50mm x 65mm Weight Combined: 172gms
Condition: The cut glass is in near mint condition, the silver lid has a few marks here and there and a slight discolour to the top, surface marks consistent with age and genuine usage.
