A good Wooden black gun powder barrel, the type carried by the British Army during the Napoleonic war, the barrel is made of Wood with wrought iron handle and band finishing. NO makers mark. Traditionally a wooden keg is made by a cooper and used to transport items such as black powder and a variety of liquids throughout the ages. Primarily Used for priming small cannon or providing front line soldiers with black powder for musket use. Due to weight the postage is high, any overcharge will be refunded. Displays very well a real conversation piece, over 200 years old. Size: 8 inches diameter by 7 inches.
Condition: straps around the barrel are loose due to the wood expanded and shrank over considerable time
