WWI HELMET REFURBISHED IN THE 1930s.

WWI Recycled M17 Style Helmet, refurbished in the 1930s to the German Wehrmacht. Apple green finish in excellent overall condition with only minor abrasions. Originally refurbished with twin armed forces decals the army decal is all intact, good and clear without damage, under the 1940s regulations the National Tricolour has been painted over. The helmet is complete with its M35 aluminium banded liner with square edge strap attachment clips. Marked size 57, good supple leather, excellent colour with its original drawstring. The shell is marked BGB 66. A heavy stamping into the upper inner crown of 8504 this is an original Austrian WWI stamping. The M17 strap lugs have been removed from the interior, the domed rivet heads remain to the exterior of the helmet.
