ORIGINAL WWII ADOLF HITLER HAND SIGNED SIGNATURE ON PROMOTION DOCUMENT WITH PERIOD PHOTOGRAPHS

A Rare 1937 dated Promotion Certificate with the original ink signed signature of Adolf Hitler promoting Oberstleutnant Kurt Schmidt to the rank of Oberst dated 16th March 1937 with Certificate measures 295mm x 210mm with details typed on high quality Vellum with Hitler’s signature as Der Fuhrer und Reichskanzler and above that of Werner Eduard Fritz Von Blomberg. Von Blomberg was a General Staff Officer and the first Minister of War under Hitler. The document is in excellent condition without folds or tears and carries a large embossed eagle and Swastika surrounded by a wreath, in the bottom left-hand corner. Original Hitler signatures are rare and of course highly collectable, particularly so when found on a promotion certificate to a high-ranking officer. Also included in this package is a nice 165mm x 95mm black and white photograph of Kurt Schmidt with his family later in the war wearing the uniform of a Generalleutnant and another 84mm x 65mm photograph of him in walking out dress prior to that promotion. Kurt Schmidt was to take part in the invasion of Poland in September 1939. In about November 1940 he became commander of Luxembourg. He was the commander of the 702nd Infantry Division in Norway from September 1941 to September 1943. During his time in Norway he was promoted to Generalletnant the highest rank he would hold. He was killed on March 3 1945 in Aalsmeer whilst commander of the 526th Reserve Division. The certificate is accompanied by a lifetime guarantee of authenticity from Detlev Nieman. Fantastic original set.
