Full Size Silver, WWI Military Medal, recipients name to the side of medal, he was killed in action on 27th May 1918 and was in the 2nd East Lancashire Regiment, comes with some history and service number. The Military Medal was awarded to personnel of the British Army and other arms of the armed forces, below commissioned rank for bravery in batter on land. The award was established in 1916 with retrospective application to 1914 and was awarded to other ranks for acts of gallantry and devotion to duty under fire. The award was discontinued in 1994 and was replaced by the Military Cross which was then extended to all ranks. Overall good condition, age paten, has slight edge knock,
