A wonderful complete set comprising of Hand Signed Award Certificate by U Boat Ace Commander Hans-Rudolf Rosing for the U-Boat Badge accompanied by U Boat Badge, Death Notice and photographs issued to Oberfahnrich zur See Hans-Herbert Hild dated August 1943 and signed by a Kapitan zue See Unterseeboote, Hans Rudolf Rosing, who was winner of the Knights Cross and Commander of U-48 the most successful U boat of the War, he was the leader of the famous wolf pack which was dubbed Rosings Wolf Pack. Rosing sank 12 ships totalling 60,000 tons, he was also the commander of the GERICHT Das Fuhrer Der Unterseebott West 1943 and at his height held authority over 10 uboat fertila throughout the Battle of the Atlantic, he lived to the age 99.
Oberfahnrich zur See Hans-Herbert Hild, it appeared he was Court Martial and reduced in Rank and set to the Russian Front where he died in Jeziema/Ukraine and is listed on the Volksbund Website. U-48 was a type VIIB U boat of Nazi Germanys Kriegsmarine during WWII and the most successful that was commissioned. During her two years of active service U-48 sank 51 ships for a total of 299,477 GRT and 1060 tons, she also damaged four more for a total of 27,877 GRT over twlve war patrols conducted during the opening stages of the Battle of the Atlantic.

Sort after signature by this famous U-Boat Commander ,The award document is in generally very good condition but once folded and with creasing to the right hand edge, no tears or stains. His Death Notice dated March 1944 in very good condition, once folded in a photograph removed from an album showing I presume Hild on the right of the photo. The U Boat medal is in good condition and has makers mark to the reverse FO by Friedrich Orth Wien, Zinc construction with soldered on set up.
