WWII British Army Steel Combat Helmet Dated 1938, and Gas Hood cover. Superb untouched condition British Army Steel Combat Helmet which retains its original gas protection cover with neck flap still fitted to its shell rim. The interior of the helmet still retains its original chinstrap. The gas hood has stamps head liner date 1938 and size 7 1.4, steel helmet has 1939, BI 6279 Chinstrap number, gas hood dated 1939, has the original female and male fasteners to clip to the front of the neck, liner sits tight to shell, please see photos. Gas hoods were used in the landing of the Battle of Dunkirk and was designed to protect the skin at the back of the neck from gas which eat into the skin. Becoming very hard to find these gas hoods with original helmets. Helmet is in superb condition gas hood has some splits nothing too serious
