British Wartime W.A.A.F. Peak Cap and Tunic Dated 1942

British Wartime W.A.A.F. Peak Cap and Tunic Dated 1942. A nice set comprising of tunic and cap belonging to the W.A.A.F. Womens Auxiliary Air force. The tunic is Royal Air force Blue and dated 1942 along with its size. the garment is in very good condition with only a couple of tiny moth nips here and there. Kings crown buttons throughout and all present, all original insiginia arm patches, propeller insignia along with Radio operating and Royal Air force eagles facing left to right, has original belt intact also. The cap is in a fair condition the pattern is based on the ATS Pattern and saw issue throughout the WWII. RAF Blue Grey Coloured wool crown, black painted left peak with green on the underside and a rayon linen, brass kings crown RAF cap badge fitted to front, the black painted chinstrap appears to be a replacement. Although Women were not allowed to fly during WWII they done an incredible job aiding the RAF, bringing the RAF Pilots back from bombing operations and raids via radio communications, operating large maps showing the Luftwaffe positions also operating large wartime balloons which flew over London and can be seen in iconic photos of wartime Britain. Once again I can only emphasis very hard to find a complete set, the tunic is very small lady. Please note the RAF Flag does not come with the set, has a couple of moth nips here and there,
