A Wonderful totally Authentic Original British Antique brass Victorian Royal Coat of Arms applied over a large brass ring, for what purpose this item was used for I don’t know, maybe used in one of the royal palaces at the time during the Reign of Queen Victoria, it is totally original showing age patina, the detailing to the Royal Coat of Arms is quite exceptional it lays embossed over a solid large brass ring , The Shield (Quartered): Ist and 4th Quarters: Three lions passant guardant (representing England). 2nd Quarter: A lion rampant (representing Scotland). 3rd Quarter: A harp (representing Ireland): The shield is encircled by the Order of the Garter bearing the motto Honi soit qui mal y Pense ("Shame be to him who thinks evil of it") in gold letters. The Garter: The shield is encircled by the garter of the Order of the Garter bearing the motto Honi soit qui mal y Pense ("Shame be to him who thinks evil of it") in letters. Supporters: The Dexter (left side from the viewer's perspective): A crowned English lion. The Sinister (right side from the viewer's perspective): A chained Scottish unicorn. Crest: A lion standing/sitting upon the Imperial State Crown, wearing the crown itself. Motto: Below the shield on a ribbon sits the royal motto: Dieu et mon droit ("God and my right").
