Wonderful example of a USAAF (United States Army Air Force) Sterling Silver pilot wings and Captain rank bars in wartime Boots tin, Station 342 interest (RAF Atcham). Excellent condition totally Authentic two part full 3" size USAAF (United States Army Air Force) pilot graduation wings in sterling silver finishing. the Crisp highly detailed wings purported to have been manufactured by the Dodge company in the USA. Marked sterling to reverse. Hinge pin and roller lock in perfect working order. A set of shoulder size sterling silver Captain rank bars. Both are also sterling marked. Hinge pin and roller locks in working order. Some age patina to the bars. These items were collected at the end of WWII by a Miss Joan Robinson from Kingstanding in Birmingham who in 1945 was a "GI bride" engaged to an airman that was based at USAAF (United States Army Air Force) Station 342 (the former RAF Atcham) near Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The wings and bars have been stored in the Boots plaster dressing tin for the past 80 years. A fascinating and totally original authentic war time set.
