Authentic Falklands War, Northern Ireland “Para" Parachute Regiment Red Beret.

A totally Original Authentic used British Army Falklands War and Northern Ireland Period "Para" Parachute Regiment Red Beret and badge. This cap beret was purchased directly from the family of the particular soldier that served during the actual Falklands war campaign in 1982 and also severed time in Northern Ireland troubles during the mid-1970s. A good example para cap made by Compton ltd label inside under protective plastic lozengier comes Complete with its original anodised silver frosted Parachute Regiment cap badge in fine condition. Some service wear and surface mothing tracks please see photos. Remains in good shape. This pattern of label to the inside indicates late 1970's-80's period. The Parachute Regiment, known colloquially as the Paras, is the airborne and elite infantry regiment of the UK British Army. The first battalion is part of the Special Forces Support Group under the operational command of the Director Special Forces. The other battalions are the parachute infantry component of the British Army's rapid response formation, 16 Air Assault Brigade. Alongside the five regiments of Foot Guards, the Parachute Regiment is the only infantry regiment of the British Army that has not been amalgamated with another unit since the end of the Second World War. The 2nd and 3rd Battalions of the Parachute Regiment (2 and 3 PARA) were pivotal in the 1982 Falklands War, fighting key, intense, and largely on-foot battles to retake the islands.
Key actions included 2 PARA's victory at Goose Green and 3 PARA's success at Mount Longdon, ultimately leading the advance to Port Stanley.
Key Roles and Actions: 2 PARA (Goose Green): Led by Lt Col H. Jones (posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross), 2 PARA secured a vital, albeit costly, victory in the first major land battle. 3 PARA (Mount Longdon): Executed a 10-hour, fierce, night-time bayonet battle to secure the high ground, which was crucial for the final advance.
